Others of My Kind, by James Sallis (No Exit Press, 2013)

A young woman, abducted as a child, begins to search for her birth parents. Not quite a crime novel, not quite literature, but a great autumnal read nevertheless. A book about what it’s like to be alone in the world, and about making your peace with it. Recommended.

My own books are here, if that’s your thing. Newest is noir thriller East of England.
